$300M Boost for Impulse Space

Impulse Space, a Redondo Beach-based startup founded by former SpaceX engineer Tom Mueller, has raised $300 million in Series C funding, bringing its total to $525 million. The round was led by Linse Capital with participation from top investors including DFJ Growth, Valor Equity Partners, Founders Fund, Lux Capital, RTX Ventures, DCVC, Airbus Ventures, Spring Tide Capital, First Principles Group, Balerion Space Ventures, Tamarack Global, and Trousdale Ventures. The funding will fuel expansion and accelerate development of its space vehicles.

Solving the In-Space Mobility Challenge

Impulse develops space tugs—vehicles that transport satellites between orbits after launch. As rideshare missions become more common, with rockets like SpaceX’s Starship and Blue Origin’s New Glenn carrying multiple payloads at once, there’s a growing need for efficient, post-launch orbital delivery. Impulse is positioning itself as a key player in this emerging sector.

The Vehicles: Mira and Helios

The company’s fleet includes two vehicles. Mira, already flight-proven, handles hosting, deployment, and precise orbital maneuvers. Helios, powered by the Deneb engine, is designed to move payloads from LEO to GEO, lunar, and deep space orbits. Together, they offer flexible, cost-effective solutions for satellite operators.

Growing Demand and Market Traction

Impulse has signed over 30 commercial and government contracts valued at nearly $200 million, completing two successful missions with Mira. The new funding enables it to scale production, expand its team, and push into long-duration and deep space missions.

With rising demand for orbital logistics, Impulse Space is building the infrastructure needed to move satellites exactly where they need to go—efficiently, affordably, and on demand.
